There is no AAX DSP on the Thunderbolt card, so all processing is done with your native CPU, but all Pro Tools HD Native sessions are compatible with HDX sessions and Avid hardware for smooth transistions between Producers, Studios and Post Production suites.

The Pro Tools HD Native Thunderbolt Interface from Avid is a part of a music and post-production system that allows the professional to create complex, high-quality audio productions, using the full capabilities of Pro Tools HD software in a lower-cost, native solution.
